Expression-ready ORF Clones
Alias : TRAM, TIRP
Toll like receptor adaptor molecule 2.
TRIF-related adapter molecule.
Available versions:
- Wild type TICAM2
- Dominant negative TICAM2
TRIF-related adaptor molecule (TRAM), also known as TIR-containing adaptor molecule (TICAM)-2, is an adaptor molecule involved in the MyD88-independent TLR4 signaling pathway [1]. In response to LPS stimulation, TICAM2 physically bridges TLR4 and TRIF transmitting LPS-induced signaling to TRIF which in turn activates IRF-3 and the production of interferon beta [2]. TICAM2 function is restricted to the TLR4 pathway, as TICAM2-deficient mice are defective in cytokine production in response to TLR4 ligand but not to other TLR ligands [3].
TRAM-DN
Dominant negative TRAM/TICAM2 (C117H) was generated by mutating the cysteine at position 117 into a histidine. This TICAM2-DN was shown to retain its ability to bind to TLR4 but to lose its homo (TICAM2-TICAM2) and hetero (TICAM1-TICAM2) dimerizing properties [2].
