TICAM2

TRIF-related adaptor molecule (TRAM), also known as TIR-containing adaptor molecule (TICAM)-2, is an adaptor molecule involved in the MyD88-independent TLR4 signaling pathway [1]. In response to LPS stimulation, TICAM2 physically bridges TLR4 and TRIF transmitting LPS-induced signaling to TRIF which in turn activates IRF-3 and the production of interferon beta [2]. TICAM2 function is restricted to the TLR4 pathway, as TICAM2-deficient mice are defective in cytokine production in response to TLR4 ligand but not to other TLR ligands [3].
