PYCARD-DN version
The dominant negative version of PYCARD (ASC) is a truncated form of the gene (aa1-94) that contains the Pyrin domain but not the CARD domain. PYCARD-DN binds to NALP1 but not caspase-1 and strongly blocks maturation of IL-1β in PMA-differentiated THP1 cells stimulated with LPS without affecting LPS-induced proIL-1β synthesis [1].
