ODN 1826
Class B CpG oligonucleotide - Stimulatory mouse TLR9 ligand
InvivoGen provides ODN 1826, a Class B CpG oligonucleotide (ODN) with a preference for the mouse Toll-like receptor 9 (TLR9). Class B (Type K) CpG ODNs, such as ODN 1826, contain a full phosphorothioate backbone with one or more CpG dinucleotides.
CpG ODNs are synthetic oligonucleotides that contain unmethylated CpG dinucleotides in specific sequence contexts (CpG motifs). These CpG motifs are present at a 20-fold greater frequency in microbial DNA than in mammalian DNA. CpG ODNs are recognized by TLR9, which leads to strong immunostimulatory effects.
ODN 1826 has been tested as an adjuvant in numerous animal models. It has been demonstrated that ODN 1826 administration can activate antigen-presenting cells and type I IFN anti-viral responses. It strongly activates B cells, weakly stimulates IFN-α secretion in pDCs, and generates Th1-dominant immune responses.
The sequence of the ODN 1826 is 5’-tccatgacgttcctgacgtt-3’ of 20 mer. This ODN contains a full phosphorothioate backbone and is nuclease-resistant.
